Chinook Sciences feature in the Sunday Times HSBC International Track 200
June 9th, 2016
Sunday Times HSBC International Track 200 ranks Britain’s mid-market private companies with the fastest-growing international sales.
Chinook Sciences is based in Nottingham, ranking 7th fastest in the Midlands, and 108th nationally. Chinook’s CAGR over two years was 34%. Chinook has achieved rapid international growth because its proprietary waste recycling and processing technologies is greener and more cost effective than competing technologies. The international market for waste processing and energy recovery is growing strongly, and this will support Chinook’s international sales for years to come.
Amanda Murphy, UK head of corporate banking at HSBC, commented:
“The Sunday Times HSBC International Track 200 is a great reflection of the value of building connections overseas. The world is getting smaller and for ambitious businesses, the opportunities to source goods and services and to grow organically via international trade, digitally or on the ground, are easier than ever. I'm delighted to see so many HSBC-backed mid-sized firms making such a strong impression on the world stage."
Nationally, the 200 companies achieved overseas sales growth of £7.1 billion over the 2 years, employing 117,000 staff which has grown by 27,000 over the period. As expected, London is the strongest region, however the Midlands was a creditable, forth strongest region with 2 companies in Nottingham appearing on the list.
