The IET Innovation Awards celebrate the year’s best innovations in science, engineering and technology. The judging panel commented:

“Chinook technology has made a significant advancement in the area of metal recovery and energy production. This has had an exceptional impact on the environment, renewable energy and society in both a commercial and sustainable way. Chinook technology recovers more energy than any existing technologies.”

Harry Perry, director of Chinook Sciences, said: “We are very proud of winning this internationally recognised award for innovation. Our continuing success is based on our highly-skilled team developing and commercialising innovations to ensure that our technology maintains its position as the clear world-wide leader in the advanced thermal treatment market. As the judges recognised, in addition to recovering more energy from waste than any existing technology, we also recover all the valuable metal which would otherwise go to landfill, supporting the circular economy to close resource loops.”
